We are so excited to announce the addition of a monthly and weekly subscription service here at GelatoLove. Membership is completely customizable and allows you to choose between 4 pints per week, or 4, 6, or 10 pints per month. Pick your favorite flavors, or try out our new seasonal selections, and then we will hand deliver the gelato to your doorstep each month free of charge. As an extra way of saying thanks, you will receive special member pricing on your Gelato Club shipments, discounts on purchases made in the store or online, first access to new flavors, and invitations to events held in our Gelato Lab & Tasting Room.

HOW IT WORKS:

WE COULDN’T HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT YOU

Over the past five years, GelatoLove would not have been able to grow into the business that it is today without the love and support of our wonderful patrons. We have been looking for a way to give back to our community members—for keeping our spirits high and supporting each other during tough and prosperous times alike. We are so, so grateful for you all, and now we have found a way to show our appreciation.

When the pandemic hit, we quickly adapted to offer a gelato delivery service to San Diego county and beyond. The response to this has been unprecedented: we are now delivering gelato every day of the week, with many loyal customers ordering on a regular basis. With the current uncertainty many people feel leaving the house or traveling long distances, we want to offer an easy way to make our gelato accessible to all.

An Emergent Dessert Vision

Sometimes we hear the question “Why did you change your name?” Many people have noticed that more than year ago, we switched from the name Gaia Gelato to GelatoLove.

Sometimes we hear the question “Why did you change your business name?” Many people have noticed that more than a year ago, we switched from the name Gaia Gelato to GelatoLove. To respond to this question: shifting from Gaia Gelato came as a natural metamorphosis as we decided to flow into a futuristic dessert vision.

An experiment, designed by American mainstream author and food writer Michael Pollan, showed the same words “Chocolate Cake” to a group of Americans and a group of French and recorded their word associations. “Guilt” was the top response for the first group. If that strikes you as unexceptional, consider the response of French eaters to the same prompt: “celebration.”

CELEBRATION
As Italians, we feel that food and dessert in particular, should be a celebration of life. A reward and an honor that we offer to ourselves as a sign of respect of who we are as humans, thinkers, creators and tasters.

In the spirit of celebrating life to its fullest extent, we decided it was time to completely upgrade our gelato project. We built a beautiful gelato lab about 10 minutes from the store at Carlsbad Gateway Center in the Business Park of Carlsbad. We started offering gelato classes, tasting events and a much wider distribution.

We worked on developing recipes for over a year and came up with a completely clean gelato made with ingredients found entirely in nature. We use a natural fruit sugar called allulose that has no glycemic index. A small cup of gelato (4oz) has less than 5 grams of sugar, and ranges from 30 to 150 calories. We hand-pick top quality ingredients that will make the best product-- we never try to save by sacrificing quality.

To prepare food is an act of love, and we want to offer top quality, authentic Italian desserts as our act of love and care for our community. We are currently working on the biggest online homemade dessert platform available for deliveries and pick up, to make it easier to share and feel the love. We drew inspiration from our Goddess Mother Earth Gaia, as our original store, Gaia Gelato was named after her. This name has been way too often mispronounced or forgotten, but we still walk in her footsteps and we feel her influence every day.

We are so happy with the way things are moving and feel a natural flow with this project.
Our story will continue to evolve as we keep on creating. So grateful to you all for being a part of our journey!
